Hello,
When I loaded my 3500XLT with almost 2500 channels it was 58% filled according to the settings menu. So I tried to upload over 4000 channels (extrapolating 2500 at 58% to over 4000 at 100%).
bctool stopped at 3961 channels, so I tried reading them back. I got to exactly 2500 channels and a lot of empty systems. So it seems Uniden programmed a hard limit of 2500 channels in the formware, although dynamically I could fit almost 4000 channels in the scanner...
Why? I know they want to make sure users arent's expecting too much, but this is a bit over the top IMHO. I know the memory is dynamic, so shorter channel tags creates space for more channels IN THEORY. The 2500 channel limit seems to be based on a worst case scenario... I have on average over 4590 channels in my database a 8.5 character tag. But I get no return on that "investment"...
Could Uniden make it possible to use the memory to it's fullest dynamic size? I wouldn't mind checking a "advanced memory use" setting, which warns me of corruption and the like...
