Got a model number for the Wouxun(spelling)?

That might be useful when my MVT-7100 finally dies.

prcguy - you're over on the west coast, right? I thought 255.550 was one of the FLTSATCOM channels over the atlantic?

If you are looking at buying a Wouxun get the uvd2 or uvd3. I have the uvd1p and it is a nice radio but it has a few quirks. wouxun.us has good reviews as a seller

Not sure what orbital slot 255.550 is located but I get best reception at about 45deg el and a little east of south at my location. The directional satcom antennas are not really that directional so its hard to pinpoint a spot in the sky but I would say I'm hearing the 100W or 105W orbital slot.

Weird...

We get the same pirates on 255.550 (maybe a different set???) over here on the Atlantic birds.

I have notice the pirates on 255.550 sometime come in crystal clear and other times very scratchy yet they still manage to carry-on a conversation. Maybe some of them are pointed at CONUS and others pointed at the LANT birds. Or perhaps the guys pirating the LANT satellites are unintentionally leaking into the CONUS inputs since Brazil is in range of both? Another freq that appears to be both CONUS and LANT is 261.575. Seems kinda odd to share frequency groups for overlapping satellite regions.

Something I heard tonight was on 256.950... A Russian sat pirate had 255.550 on in the background of his transmission. He had an open mic (deliberately) and I flicked to 255.550 and heard the same thing that he was laughing at.
