We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

I know much of Allegany Co and even Butler county uses frequently in the UHF T-band, mostly in he 470 range. What will happen when the T-band mandate is to take effect in 2022? Any plans to switch for those agencies?

A good portion of both county's use T band. It is expected the plan to vacate T band will be vacated late this year. The funds the auction of the space was expected to generate, will not move 2% of the current users.

That came direct from IWCE this year.

I did read since I posted this that Butler may join the system Armstrong, westmoreland and the other counties are using in the 700/800 range. But have heard nothing on Allegeny Co.

Nothing other then butler. Butler has to upgrade their dispatch console which are end of life 2018. So I gather the official are looking to move off tband when. They do so they don't have yet another deadline. As far as I know they going to look in hook up to other systems but it not a requirement of the new system. I have not see or heard an new since my post about the RFP
