Hello,

Just wonder how many UID's can you have in your database before it starts degrading the scanners performance? Right now I have about 403 unique UID's and so far I have not noticed any performance issues.

Just curious how many you have defined in your database ??

One system I have 9500 uid's it ran okay. If you are using play back it will do random errors say disp is 10xx and they talk to 124xxx and when the officer keys up it shows 10xx and when disp keys up it shows 124xxx. Where I'm at on excel I have like 22500 still growing. I haven't tried the uniden with that many uid yet.

Oh WOW 9500 ! i thought my 400+ was a lot. What is your process of getting into your UID database? I let my scanner scan and using proscan log all the UID's it see's. Then I open ARC536PRO and manually enter them into the database.

Any way to do this better or easier?

I'm working on over 22k uid for the area I'm at. I use excel than I copy and paste into sentinel.

On the x96 model scanners, I believe a Unit ID entry counts as one channel and these models have channel number limitations (actual number depends on scanner).

On the x36 and SDS scanners, Unit IDs are part of a Favorites List and there is a 1 MB limit on the Favorites List size.

I have a Favorites List for a statewide system which has a couple hundred sites and a boatload of talkgroups. There are 1,920 Unit IDs. The size of that FL is 528 KB. So plenty of room for expansion there.

I use Unitrunker for all logging and labeling. I am at about 4200 labeled radio id's on just one system. I export that into excel, chop out all the useless bs and just leave the radio id and alpha tag columns. Then open sentinel or lately, @ProScan , and after reading the scanner, paste into UID's and write back.

Sometimes I label rid's right in @ProScan UID Logging tab and when I have a bunch, select those rows, then ctrl plus C and paste into Excel, get rid of any unwanted bs leaving just uid and label columns, and paste into Sentinel or Proscan fav editor

Kind of following your post but not really haha? I'm using ARC536 basic and I've got about 15 unit IDs in the list. I cannot get them to display on the radio. When the proper unit ID shows up it just shows the unit ID number no Alpha Characters anywhere. What am I missing?
TIA
