[split off from another topic since it's different....]

With thanks to Nightwatch, we have an alert that UMD College Park is performing a rebanding...the old freqs can be found here

PG County monitors in that area with UniTrunker, Trunker and others are encouraged to report...all you need is a 800 Mhz scanner with a discriminator tap (UniTrunker doesn't need a data slicer, others do...) and away you go. Since this is a Motorola system, once their little system rebanding is complete, scanners will no longer be able to trunktrack them (probably why they're doing it now, along with the fact that they're a relatively small system...)

We have a forum for trunking utilities and such where you can get hints. We also have a complete Wiki article on data slicers and the various trunking utilities here.

Does anyone know if a license has been issued for the new frequencies? I assume it would be radio service code YE. I searched for that code in the entire state of Maryland, and the only YE that came back was for Ocean City.

Thanks,
Dave

Anyone have an update on the rebanding? I just looked through the FCC database again, and still no license for the rebanded frequencies.

I was thinking of maybe scanning tomorrow night's football game, but might skip it if the scanner won't be able to track the rebanded freqs. If they're still using the 866-869 MHz freqs, then I guess all will be well.

Thanks,
Dave
