• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Hello. Couldn't figure out where to post this. Uniden web site wants a login to ask a question, but none of my Uniden logins work :-( My apologies if this is the wrong place.

I have a BCD396T that I haven't used in quite a while. The firmware is V 2.00.07. According to the Uniden twiki, I should be able to update to 3.02.02 by logging in to my.uniden.com, pulling up all my scanners, and clicking "Get v3.xx.xx Firmware" to get a V3 key, then downloading the updater and the update zip file.

Problem, the scanner is correctly registered, including ESN and checksum, but the All My Scanners page does not provide a link to get a V3 key. The page itself says there should be a column showing the latest firmware, but there is no such column. ("Firmware updates for the BCD396T and BCD996T scanners are now located on your “All My Scanners” page. When you register a scanner, the latest firmware version available for that scanner is linked in the “Latest Firmware” column.")

How do I get a V3 key so I can update my scanner?

Thank you.

IT is working on this issue. That scanner has somehow been registered twice. One instance has a key, the other instance does not. The instance w/o the key was showing up. I tried deleting that instance from your account hoping that it would result in the original registration appearing, but NG. Below is the information and key for the originally registered unit. It should reappear in your account once IT fixes the problem.
