• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi, having real problems programming a G5 from Radio Reference. I have a premium account with RR and the latest programming software on my PC the G5 has the latests F/W. I can log on to my RR account with no problem, however when I try to log on via Unication the error says RR username/password is not recognised. any thoughts. Thanks Peter KM4JXP

Doesn't work that way. Same issue, You need to export the excel file from Radio Reference and import through the Unication software.
Hope it helps.

That might work OK. It can be tedious and challenging for someone who doesn't work with spreadsheets and CSV files regularly.

However, I'm able to import from RR while using PPS. No intermediate steps required.

When did that change?
Kevin I had the same problem mentioned by ttquattroman and overcome the issue as I described since the option of importing the files is part of the programming software. I was never able to access to my account from the program.

Still works fine for me when I last used it about two weeks ago. I often use direct import for system and sites, and use csv for talkgroups so I can more easily filter out service types I don’t want and encrypted TGs.

So today I tried again and is the first time that program accepted my RadioReference log in. Thank you for the triggering the topic today because it helped to solve an issue that I had with a specific region that now have been able to properly import.

Glad you were able to get it working. While it's been a few weeks since I logged on, it's worked every time for me since at least Last September when I first got involved with Unication Pagers.

Alternatives are great, but so is correcting the problem, or seeking help to find out what the problem was, rather than giving up and telling people it didn't work.

Really? I just did it. Used PPS 4.01 and my RR username and password. Worked fine.

As I mentioned today, triggered by the post, I tried again and for the first time it worked also for me. I spent the morning doing a new pps.
When I wasn't able to join thrugh the software my RR subscription was active. Some few weeks ago I renovated, immediately after the expiration and didn't tried again until today.
