I have followed the instructions in the manual but can't lock-out an id group while in the trunk scanning mode. When I try, the screen reads "FULL". I only have 8 id numbers in bank 1 and 2 in bank 2

Sounds like you've hit the limit for how many talkgroups you can have locked out (on the 245, it's 200- likely it's less for its older brother). I'd suggest reprogramming the bank, which I think should clear out the locked out talkgroups and include only those you want to hear. The other way would likely be to restore all the locked out talkgroups and deleting them. That might take a bit since there's no PC interface on the 235 however....73 Mike

Up to 100 ID's can be locked out on the BC235 (PDF manual page 42).

From the PDF manual page 43:
To unlock all locked out IDs at once, follow these steps:
1. Press and hold LO until you hear two short beeps.
2. Press E to unlock all the IDs at once.
