• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I don't believe the 785 or 250 can work with this system - it's marked as a APCO25 exclusive. If memory serves, the digital card could only handle 3600 baud systems. The BC296, BC796, BCD396 or BCD996 from Uniden can.

Besides if rebanding hits your area, that radio will not be supported.

Just to make sure there is no confusion, the APCO-25 Common Air Interface Exclusive is not relative to the BC785D receiving signals on the MPSCS TRS. The System Type; however, is Project 25 Standard, and that will preclude the radio from working. There are Motorola systems in place that use P25 CAI Exclusive that the 785D will work fine with (e.g., South Dakota). The re-banding problem is a problem that will not go away. As a side note, the BC785D connects to a computer with a standard serial cable.
