In the past read forums stating that Bluetooth could not be added to scanners but it takes away from its sensitivity of receiving frequencies. If I understand correctly that is because of have the Bluetooth transmitter so close to the antenna. I recently purchased the Uniden BCD436hp and enjoy listening to it very much. A lot more then everyone else in my household, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that shares that story. So I was looking for options and researched Bluetooth transmitters. I found a small self contained rechargeable transmitter from ( iclever ) ( IC-BTT01 ). IT takes 2.5 hrs to charge and works for 8 - 9 hrs and cost $20. I also use the Bose Bluetooth earpiece which has awesome sound quality and is noise canceling. When everything was ready so i fired it up and I was still thinking it might not work well from what I had read in the past. Much to my excitement it works great, the scanner recieves with no issues on many systems. The scanner was still picking up low band and vhf from a distance approx 30 - 40 miles. Still picking up 800 trunk systems in smartnet, apco 25 , phase 1 and Phase 2. I and very pleased with the how everything works and my family is as well.

I've been using a Bluetooth with my 436 for a couple months now. Never had a problem.

Bluetooth in scanners

I am fairly sure I read a post from UPman saying it was problematic to install bluetooth in a wideband receiver. However, why not install it and let the user decide whether or not to turn it on, depending on the intended use?

The Unication G4 and G5 pagers, which work very well as P25 scanners, have Bluetooth built in. It works just fine if you don't mind a beep tone at the beginning and end of transmissions. I think the beep issue has more to do with it using the older Bluetooth 2.0 standard than anything. But I have not noticed the Bluetooth having any negative affect on the radio's performance.

I bought the transmitter and I am having difficulty pairing to my blue tooth headset and phone headset.

How did you pair successfully?
