Hello, my Uniden BCT 15X stopped receiving fm signals. I believe I can get AM CB signals but no FM broadcast or ham radio like 2 meter etc. I have looked at the programming as if I must have turned something off, but I still cannot hear anything. I am exploring updating firmware. This is a nice scanner and I had it a year until I learned how to program it. Once programmed it was a lot of fun. Uniden will repair for $80 but that is 1/2 of what I paid for it. I would rather put the $80 toward a digital scanner like a Whistler. I hate to scrap it but I have spent 20 hours digging through the program looking for anything I may have done wrong.
What could the problem be?
Thanks

You didn't move the scanner between different locations and unplugging power and such drastic actions, you only programmed it and then it was dead on FM modulation, or more exact the frequency 88-175MHz did not receive?

Do a total reset by holding in buttons 2, 9 and HOLD and start the scanner. Try manual tune to 100MHz and try to find a station with the squelch open. If you hear nothing it means it have to be repaired but most likely you have some sort of programming error.

Broadcast Screen - these settings determine whether the scanner automatically ignores transmissions that are on common broadcasts, paging systems, and other annoyance radio sources during Custom Search, Quick Search, or Close Call Search. If as I asked not being able to hear the weather channel indicates a issue.

I asked also if it was a scan or search. If scanning broadcast screen is not the problem.

Thank you. Its possible a power interruption could have occurred. And yes I have changed locations . I didn't think such actions would turn it into a paper weight. I will try the 100mhz. I did the 2, 9 restart with no improvement. How about a firmware reload?
Thank you again for taking the time to offer solutions. You and people like you are what make this site so successful.
