We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Is the esn suppose to match the serial number on the unit itself? Didn't know if this was a new clone hack or if my repair guy pulled a good one on me.

Serial Number Question Bearcat BCT15x

Is still doesn’t look like they are matched. Does it to you?
Here is the information:

The box: S/N 88000493

Back of unit: 361z88493

On the scanner it says:
Firmware Version
Version 1. 06. 00
SN 336 26 08400 3383

My question is that is the box, back of the unit and the SN under the firmware supposed to match? I understand about replacing the z with the 3 numbers. It still appears to be different.
