All of a sudden, my Home Patrol II has stopped working. I've replaced the batteries, used a USB power cord - all with no results. The only sign of life I can see is the "CHARGE" LED flashing green on the front of the unit. I can't imagine what may have caused it to not power up. I'm hoping someone with knowledge of these scanners has a clue because I'm at a loss.

This might be long shot, put regular batteries in it...just to see if it will power up. Since they are not recharge able, don't leave in...but just to see if it powers on?

And make sure SD card is pushed in all the way. I did this once...OK, twice...

I am trying to remember but will any SD card work or does it have to be a smaller size? Sorry to ask such elementary questions but I'm starting fresh with the HPII

Can't recall how big you can go on that scanner...will put link for a simple to read manual. Makes more sense than the one they have you.
Has about every scanner ever made! I use it all the time.
