Does Uniden only work well up 16 GB while it says that it supports up to 32 GB?
Or does Uniden only work well up to just over 2Gb of data while it says that it supports up to 32 GB?

...For Uniden, there are no issues with larger cards, other than when you reach a certain number of folders, it'll refuse to record, which is about 16-24GB depending on transmission length. I have 32GB and had no problems. ...

    Well, that didn't take long.
Brand new Transcend SD card - it went directly from the package to the PC slot, prepared with Sentinel and installed directly in the 536 -- left untouched and recording --

It only took just over 1 week before the radio rebooted itself (I just happened to be sitting here this morning and heard the radio "beep" following the reboot).

    Recording 1: 2017-12-01_13-26-53
    Last recording: 2017-12-09_09-29-10

Upon removing the SD card and pulling the recordings, once again, there is just over 2Gb of data on a 16Gb card - roughly 43,000 recordings.

I was actually expecting to come back and report that this made a difference - it did not. I see no difference with a "recommended" brand new card.

Not much else I can say.

(In case your are wondering, the radio is running FW v. 1.11.31 but it has done this reboot thing on every version of firmware - as does my 436).
    Thank you.

If things seem wrong and it shouldn't be here, delete.

Question: What is the limit of the usable amount of gigabyte cards for Uniden {the word @kandrey89 uses} is while it says that it supports up to 32 GB?

Statement: I am just wondering what the limit of the usable gigabyte cards are for Uniden are while it says that it supports up to 32 GB. You can reply to the statement with an answer or just with a thought or both and something else.

Confusion: I just don't want to waste any batteries on any recording sessions that it won't be recording.

Technical question: On or per average which may never be the same, how many hours and/or minutes am I able to record or not record while the batteries still are working, so I will still have batteries the next time I need some to record when the radio is plugged in and don't find out it didn't record and waste the batteries and go plug Uniden in and and now have no batteries so even when plugged in recording still won't work because the batteries were used up whie it wasn't recording, even not plugged in and not recording, so I know when approximately to turn off Uniden to save on batteries?

I just wanted to make sure that it says a total of 2 Gb were used on the card before the recording stopped recording. So once the card stopped working well it used only 2GB. Despends what card maybe also.

kandrey89 says that there is a limit anyway.

Is there any helpful information on what works and has anything on this been fixed on this and what is truly the max capacity?
29,000 minutes of recording time = what, 20 days of recording time with no recorded silence, if silenced, it will wait to record and let you record for a longer time.

safetypro79 wants to know: "Will a 64 gb work also?"
fxdscon: Although Uniden supports up to 32 GB, others have reported no problems with 64 GB cards. Maybe any of this data information could be older.

As for my 436's 536's I use Sandisk 16GB Class 10 cards I bought at Walmart Black Friday several years ago. I also have several Sandisk 32GB Class 10 Cards as backups. I will use these same cards on my SDS100 and SDS200 as I have not had a Sandisk Class 10 card fail.

I use 32 GB Class 10 cards and never had a problem in any of the Unidens.
Now I can also add that I have never found the recordings to go over 8GB.
I record everything and the radios always reach the 1000 folder limit before
it passes that. So 32 GB is really overkill and 16GB is move then enough space.

Anybody ever passed 8GB of recordings?

I too use 32 GB cards (San Disk Class 10). Since the cost difference is insignificant and I'm a "Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it" guy, I chose the larger capacity.
