• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

It appears an artist for the game Deus Ex: Human Revolution believes Detroit Police will be using Uniden police scanners as police radios in 2027. Model of the scanner (with blurred-out "Uniden" brand name) appears to be a mix between the BC346XT and the BC72XLT.

It gave me a good laugh so I thought I would share it:

No. Actually, the Chinese have taken over and have injected their subscripts with just a touch of Asian DNA (They don't want all of us to "look alike"), lol.

Fun to see scanners in places like this and even more fun seeing how they are usually totally misused.

The TV show Burn Notice has upgraded from their old PRO-83 to an iScan this season btw.
