Good evening everyone. I recently purchased a Uniden SDS100. I'm looking to purchase a new antenna. I want something that has a long range. I have the Remtronix REM-820S but it doesn't give me the performance and range I'm looking for. I seen this on Amazon (AEcreati...

You are not going to find a better on radio portable antenna than the REM820 for 700-800 MHz. It's the best you can get. It also receives UHF fairly well but not so much VHF HI.

The next step would be a rooftop antenna.

The AEcreative wide band antenna will not provide better reception on 700-800 MHz but it would provide better reception on the vhf high band if you want to sacrifice the superior reception of the 820 on 7-800 MHz.

Is the REM800B the same antenna as the REM820S just with a BNC connector? It looks like it from what I can tell off the website, just wondering if anyone can confirm. I would prefer to stick with BNC connectors if possible and Im looking for a new antenna for the SDS100.

REM800B = BNC
REM820S = SMA
Same antenna, different connector

Any particular reason why you aren't going with the native connector? The REM-820S has an O-ring which makes it compatible with the SDS100

Easier to swap between rubber duckie, mag mount and home discone antennas. Should I decide to keep the SDS100 and sell the SDS200.
