Today I bumped by SDS100 off my desk while it was plugged in, it still turns on and works okay, but it will not charge. The charging port is the same visually but when I plug it in the charging cable is loose and falls out easily. Also the red and green lights to indicate charging are not illuminated. I tried using a different cord but it is still having the same issue. What should I do?

Sounds like the charging port got damaged maybe.
Based on my experience with USB, this is quite likely the case. The OP may also have problems updating the RRDB & firmware, as well. A shame to have to send it in at $99, unless it's still in warranty, but it'll need to be done.

Had the exact same thing happen to me. $99 and 10 days later scanner was back home. I started using a 90 degree cable to try and mitigate the issue.

You've damaged the charging port on the radio. (As proven when you tried another cord.) It needs to be replaced. Uniden will repair under warranty or, if out of warranty, their flat rate repair cost of aprox $100.

That's the best solution but mini USB connectors seems impossible to find, they are all micro, iPhone and USB-C.

You seem like the kind of guy who could make one in the mini format. I forgot the SDS100 uses mini for charging.
