My Uniden SDS100 will get stuck on an aircraft channel after hearing traffic on it occasionally. Will notice it's not hearing anything on other channels for a bit & will find it setting on one of my aircraft frequencies. Seems to always be the same frequency, simply a local one I hear traffic on normally. There is not a signal there, it's just setting on that channel. I play with the system or channel selections to get it to return to scanning. It's running current firmware. Any thoughts??
Thanks

is close call on ?
i don't have that radio, yet, and if this is how you turn it on, then it might also turn it off.
Press to enter Menu mode.
• Press to return one level in Menu mode.
• Press Func then Menu for Search menu in Search mode.
• Press Func then Menu for Close Call menu in Close Call mode.

Intermediate Frequency Exchange – Changes the IF used for a selected channel/frequency to help avoid image and other mixer-product interference on a frequency.

it changes an intermediate frequency in the radio to try and cut out interference.

I've had a similar problem wth my SDS. I tried the IFX setting but it didn't seeem to help. I then changed the frequency slightly as suggested by another member - in my case from 122.8 to 122.805. It would no longer stick, but it appeared I could only receive traffic from planes that were close. After changing back to the regular frequency, the problem seemed to go away for that frequency, at least for a short period of time. When I turned on another Favorites List to listen to commercial aircraft, I found the scanner would stick on another aircraft frequency. What I'm trying now is setting the delay to -5. I've only recently made that change, so I can't really confirm results yet. But I believe that will force your scanner to leave that frequency after five seconds. -10 seconds is another option. Most aircraft transmissions are short, so leaving the frequency after 5 or 10 seconds would only rarely, if ever, clip a transmission.

If somebody knows of a downside to setting the delay to a negative number, please chime in.

Thanks for your reply. Sounds like ur seeing the same issue I am. It’s just like u have told it manually to stay on that freq. And it doesn’t do it all the time. I understand birdie/image freqs but there is nothing there signal wise that I have ever heard. Just fails to resume scanning. I’ll try the -5/-10. Thanks for the idea 👍.

You're welcome. I hope it helps. In my case, I wasn't hearing anything when the scanner stayed on the frequency. However, the signal bar on the display indicated that a signal of varying strength was being received, even though there wasn't anything audible.

The SDS's squelch function can stop scan as it sense a signal but sometimes will not unmute. When it get stuck on a channel, enter that frequency manually by pushing the Channel button, enter the frequency and then the Channel button again. Push Fn+Mod to change to FM or NFM as it will be easier to hear the signal and then set the squelch to 0.

You can also go into Settings and Bandplan and change the step for that frequency range to the smallest one and then tune back and forth to find the center of that offending signal. While the signal are there, do Fn+7 to toggle IFX and then also try the different filter settings to try and get rid of that signal.

@srh461550 Is this the problem your having? I still have not found a fix but I will try what others recommend. I don’t have this problem on my TRX-1. It sounds like another radio with a stuck dead key transmitter constantly going.

My SDS200 did this yesterday. It kept stopping on 772.043750 and I wouldn't hear a thing. This is one of the local Sheriff frequency. I admit I was playing around with the scanner a bunch yesterday learning. I ended up just rewriting over the system with the original I had saved. I must have messed something up playing around.
