I’m now using my 3600 remotely via proscan (remote scanner over IP)
I have a pc in the loft, 3600 connected via usb and audio from 3.5mm headphone socket to 3.5mm line in.
It’s all working perfectly, however there’s one issue that’s bugging me, I’m currently sat in my front room with my laptop listening and I’m sure I have a ground loop issue.
There’s a loud hum in the background on the audio, then randomly you’ll hear like a squeak.
I’ve been up to the loft and listened to the audio live via the pc and yes it’s there, if I disconnect the usb cable from the 3600 and the pc, the noise completely disappears and I have clean audio (but obviously I need it connected to use remotely)
Also if I leave the usb connected and take the 3.5mm Jack from the pc and plug in to my head phones, the audio is crystal clear again.
So it’s the fact that audio and power is connected to the same device that’s causing this.
I had something similar many years when I was DJ’ing and recording sets via laptop.
Can anybody recommend a ground loop isolator that works?
