I am new to ARC. Does anyone live in Brisbane that I could communicate with to assist me to load favourites from ARC to my scanner. It just seems to load them and then they drop out because when I reconnect the scanner to ARC it shows no favourites in the scanner. I then have to upload again from Sentinel to scanner. Thanks.

Out of curiosity would it be easier to use Sentinel rather then ARC536?

Is there something else your trying to achieve with the software other then program the scanner?

When I bought my first UBCD536PT back in 2018 I tried ARC536PRO but found it caused some odd issues. One I recall it changed some field data when writing to the radio, whereas Sentinel did not and was fine, so I've stayed with Sentinel ever since.

At the time someone locally told me ARC seemed fine with the U.S. HP models but they'd also experienced some issues with our PT versions.

That was 7 years ago though .........

To check if it is as simple as ARC not supporting the scanner, then go to the SD card and look at its file structure. It will start with a folder named something like ubcdx36 and make a note of the exact name. Rename it to BCDx36HP and then write your favorites to your scanner and check that it "stuck", but do not restart your scanner. If the read was okay then rename the folder back to ubcdx36 or whatever its original name where, as the scanner needs that folder name to be able to read the configuration.

Sorry but this information is not correct and just confusing, the PT model uses the same file structure as the BCD436/536/sds models.

Yeah, you might think it is the same but whoever did the firmware for the PT models really screwed it up.
I did a "Clear User Data" on a SD card right now and the folder name at the root says "ubcx36" for the main folder in small letters.

Thank you to all who have responded. Here are some more details. My favourites work fine using Sentinel. I open ARC536, connect my scanner to my computer, download information via Radio Reference, save these systems in ARC536, "read" data from my scanner to ARC536. All appears in ARC536. I then "write " data to my scanner. If I then "read" again all the data (old and new) appears on ARC536. I then eject my scanner from the computer. Turn the scanner on again and "nothing to scan" appears on the scanner. If I go to the "Manage Favourites" there are no favourites listed. If I go to "Select Service Types" I am not able to turn any On or Off. If I reconnect scanner to computer and open ARC536 there is nothing in the scanner to "read" back to ARC536. I then have to reload my favourites from Sentinel to the scanner. There are HPD files in my BUTEL folder in my C drive. There are also HPD files shown on the SD card on the scanner. It just seems as if the scanner will not read the HPD files. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong please. I am not very good with computers or technology. I'm still back in the analogue days. Thanks

There's a learning curve with all software. Sentinel are probably the easiest to use but lack advanced functions. I like how ARC programs work and their advanced functions. Proscan handles a lot of different scanners and can be a more economical choice but I feel it is more complicated to use and it's easy to make a mistake with all the advanced functions it has. You really have to learn it properly and not expect to know how to use it straight away, so probably a longer learning curve that will require you to spend more time with it.

Also "F-List " has a trailing space.
The UBCD3600XLT "F-1ist" with a numeric one. Should be "L"
When they hide it in that sneaky way I suspect a disgruntled employee who did his job and finished his project but planted some difficult to see errors so that third party software would hit some problems, but wouldn't affect the people who ordered the software modifications from him.
