okay, maybe it has been discussed earlier.
I see RR data very up to date, but when I update the the Uniden software database, it never is up to snuff,
I am missing lots of data that RR has and Uniden doesnt.
I guess this is common ???

Uniden imports the RRDB once a week (Sunday afternoon ready for Sentinel on Monday morning).

Additionally, compatible trunked systems with no documented talkgroups in the RRDB will never appear in Sentinel. This was a choice by Uniden, not RR.

I haven't used the RR database in my 536 in years but I recall having to download the updates then apply them. Not sure if that is accurate but I recall one additional step beyond downloading.

Can you point out specific examples of things you see in the RR database that you are not finding in Sentinel.... please post direct links to the specific location of those items in the RR database.

There's not much choice when ID Search is not an option when full DB scanning.. It'd be a waste of space in the file to have systems with no TG to scan.. It's why we have the option to create our own FL's with systems that do and do not appear in the Uniden DB and the RR DB as well.

Yes, I'm aware. The point I was making was that Uniden decided not to default full database scanning to "ID Search", instead choosing to dumb down all HP based models.

No. You update Sentinel, then write from Sentinel to the scanner. The only stuff omitted is trunked systems with zero talkgroups in RR.

example, Los Angeles ICIS
Downey fire not listed from Uniden, but is shown on RR web page
I am sure there are others, just this one caught me.
LACoFire dispatch refer to XLEU1 to talk to Downey fire, but I could not locate in the Uniden DB, But I did find it on RR.

Interesting, I don't see Downy fire (on ICI) on RR...but I could be wrong.

I do see Downey fire on both RR and Sentinel for conventional frequencies.

XLE U-1 is a conventional frequency, so you're not going to find it under the ICI trunked system, either in Sentinel or RR.

There is clearly some confusion as to what's the difference between conventional frequencies and where they are found , as opposed to trunking info. and short alpha tags and the more lengthy description tags.
Still not seeing Downey FIRE on ICI (which is what the OP was complaining about). Maybe I need glasses???

 It ain't there, the OP is mistaken.. Glasses or not..
As in almost 99.9% of posts such as this it's operator error/not understanding how the 2 DB's work/translate.

Okay, first picture taken from Unidens database, no fire included in ICIS
Second picture RR database showing Fire in the RR
Third picture showing only DPD in ICIS
Then I would guess DFD is not part of ICIS, where other city fires are, my reference to XLEU1 may have been a channel number/freq, that came up on the LACoFD radios thus part of ICIS. What radios LACoFD ID are using those identifiers?
I thought it was a strange setup.

In DPDCapture.jpg, the TGs are all encrypted. The scanner can't play those. But I'm not sure this is the problem we are trying to solve.
