Hi:

I'm also in Clermont county. Union Township Fire Department typically uses 154.1750 for their frequency. I haven't heard them on any other frequency. Years ago, I believe the county used to use some various frequencies.

I'm assuming you're in Clermont county too. If not, maybe just inside Hamilton county. What scanner are you using? Do you have the new Marcs IP 700 frequency system programmed or the simulcast of the Marcs 800 system? Have you tried using both and which works best for you?

Also I was wondering if anyone knows if Union Township PD switched to Marcs IP. I still hear the FD on their regular frequency, bit don't hear the PD since the county switched over to Marcs IP.

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ok. I wasn't aware that Union Twp had moved entirely to the new MARCS IP system.

I have a Pro 651 that I haven't fully programmed yet. I have Clermont county programmed in using the Wildcard feature. I was hearing UTFD but not the PD. I thought that they had probably moved to IP, but didn't think that the PD would move and the FD would stay where they were.

I was using a Pro 96, so that's why I was wondering if anyone is using the simulcast system and how well you are receiving on it. The 651 is a learning curve from the 96. I'm no expert, so I had really just got the hang of the 96.

I also have a Home Patrol 1 and Uniden 436HP that I really haven't messed with. I haven't downloaded any software or linked either one up to my computer to download any updated info. Maybe I'll get around to it before they become obsolete or something else changes.

My PRO-106 had a very difficult time following talk groups on the new Clermont MARCS-IP simulcast system. I live off route 32 between Batavia and Milford. It would start out hearing a group like UT Police Dispatch then the audio would go digital or would not follow the conversation. I ended up purchasing a BCD436HP and for the most part it is working great and is about 97% readable,

But, when I go to a friends house near Williamsburg readability is around 75% using a variety of portable antennas. I believe a lot of that is due to all the towers transmitting at the same time and the 436 having a difficult time in sorting out the best signal or I could be getting bombarded by a close by cell phone tower. . Driving around the county from Goshen to New Richmond normally hears the MARCS-IP system very well especially on the main roads.

The Clermont VHF Fire and EMS repeater frequencies are working like they were before and have not changed. Sadly, the reliable stand alone Union Township Police 856.2625 repeater is no longer working.

Ohio State Patrol is still using the old MARCS network but according to posts I've read here will be switching over to the MARCS-IP Simulcast network soon.

Of all your scanners I think the 436HP will do the best job in monitoring the Clermont MARCS-IP simulcast system. Please let us know how the MARCS-IP is working in your area.

It's possible that I was hearing UTFD on the new system. As I said, I programmed my Pro 651 using the Wildcard feature so I am probably picking them up on the new IP system. I'll have to pay attention the next time I hear a tone out for them.

UTFD is still transmitting on the old 154.1750 frequency. Apparently the PD has gone to the new IP system and the FD is on both, because I'm picking them up on both conventional and IP.
