Hope someone can help ID this frequency, I'm not sure if it's just 1 frequency or part of a trunk system. I'm located in Eastern Ohio so I have great coverage into Western Pa and the Panhandle of WV. the frequency I have is 407.6125 NAC 176h is what is being displayed on the Scanner. any help anyone can provide would be most helpful.

Dr. I looked at the document you shared and it only shows that freq in use in Alabama and Hawaii. Looking at the prisons listed in the RR Wiki doesn't show the frequency in use at the prisons in the area of the OP, not to mention the two prisons, when last reported, were using Motorola Type II systems as many FBOP prisons do. Also, the list of NAC codes in the Wiki do not list 176. Not saying you are wrong, but just curious what would make you think FBOP?

Have you tried doing a search of the 406-419 MHz band to see if you can locate a control channel or other frequencies using that NAC? That would be a good sign of a system. How close are you to Morganton and Hazelton WV and the FBOP there? Have you considered local post office sorting center or local VA hospital/clinic if there is one near you? Maybe take a ride to there and do a close call/spectrum search.

Just the frequency is tough to figure out, as there are many possibilities. If you are only getting the one frequency with the NAC or 176, then it's likely not a trunked system. Some additional context is needed. Any clear conversations heard? And P-25 radio ID's?

Hi Chris, as soon as I get more info on this frequency I will post it here but on the scanner it's saying Data and gives me the NAC code. I would have to guess that this is a control channel

Yes that is a good idea, I will do a search in the 406mhz band and see if it finds any other channels

I'm thinking the WV SIRN system is the culprit. The 176 NAC is possible with with a system ID of 170. It looks like there are a few sites that are using the federal portion of frequencies in the UHF range too.
