I live within five miles of a few towers. (cell, highway patrol repeater, department of trasportation). For the last couple of weeks, I've been getting tones on the 155. freqs. The tones last anywhere from 1 to 10 seconds and just fade out and scanning resumes. The tones are heard on the freqs I have programmed and the 155's pre-programmed in the scanner. Now, If there is a conversation at the same time as the tone, the tone is overridden. I can hear these tones on both my BCT15's. (one is a base - the other is mobile) The tones occur anytime of the day. But, some days there are no tones. My BC246T is not affected. Does anyone have an idea what these tones could be and how to eliminate them?
