How do you update the sds100 freq's to the latest database. Something simple hooking the radio to a chromebook like I do with a Whistler.

what does "unzip" mean. they talk about exe site and I never see anything with exe in it.

The latest version of Sentinel is available at the following Uniden link:
http://info.uniden.com/twiki/pub/UnidenMan4/BCD536HP/BCDx36HP_Sentinel_Version_2_00_10.zip

Download this file to your computer.

After the file is downloaded, go to the file location, right-click on the "BCDx36HP_Sentinel_Version_2_00_10.zip" file an choose "Extract All...". A box will appear with the folder name where the files will be unzipped to shown in the top box.

Click the "Extract" button to create this new folder and extract all files to it.

Navigate to this new folder and double-click on the Setup.exe file to start the installer.

Windows seven does not have any native extraction software and you will need to use a third party software such as 7-zip to do the extraction

That is not correct. Windows 7 (and newer) *does* have the ability to natively view the files inside of a standard ZIP file. It can extract the contents of a ZIP file to a folder (via right-click --> Extract All). It can also create a ZIP file (via right-click --> Sent To --> Compressed (zipped) folder).

It must just be that the vast majority of our customers never update their OS then, or they have XP and say they have 7, which is certainly possible. My mistake

Windows XP also had native support for compressed files (aka zip files).

Well I gave it a try with no success. i guess I will stick with GRE/RS/WHISTLER radios. I was a RM not a ET in the Navy and Uniden radios are definitely for ET's.

Find a neighbor kid to help you out, and give them $20 for their time. It won't take long for them to teach you how it works.
