• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I think the site file might not be a complete picture.

I believe Mead currently has 14 channels (10 - 800 MHz and 4 - 700 MHz). Most DTRS sites don't reveal all the 800 MHz channel that they have available to them until the site gets fully loaded with traffic.

The 700 MHz channel are usually balanced in usage and only the 4 new ones have hits. I believe that most of the 4 old frequencies were moved out to Longmont. Old site files should be removed (or archived) before generating a new log, or else Pro96Com reads in the old frequency data that might no longer be used.

I think Mead is likely using the following frequencies, but I am not in a position to do extensive logging of it to confirm.

774.04375
774.29375
774.54375
774.79375
851.35000
851.61250
851.95000
852.18750
852.42500a
852.80000a
853.38750a
853.98750c
858.08750
859.08750

As for timeline, I believe most of these changes happened last year.
