US-131 closed

US-131 is closed in three spots:

Closed in Kent County, southbound from 10 mile Rd to I-96 (7 mile strech of highway). 2 pile-ups, one with 25 cars, and another with 30 cars.

Closed in Kent County, northbound at 44th street because of a multi-car accident at 36th street.

Closed in Kalamazoo County, southbound at M-43 for an accident.

They cleared them up and reopened a few hours later. Now they are closing southbound I-196 in Allegan County for semi-trucks jackknifed.

Literally hundreds of accidents accross the counties affected. Maybe more than a two hour wait for a police officer if you go off the road.

Says one unit to dispatch en route to an accident, "I am at a complete stop right now. Can't see to the end of my hood."

They shut down eastbound I-196 at the 55 mile marker in Ottawa county to clean up accidents at the 59.

US-131 was shut down in St. Joseph county as well.

US-131 is now shut down both directions around the Allegan-Kent county border due to multiple accidents with about 30-50 cars involved.
