US Mil Trunking ** NYS **

Good day from Eastern Ontario .

I would like to learn and understand :

a. how to monitor the " new " DAC Mil trunked radio system
b. if the 996 XT is the only unit capable of receiving this

Rome and Drum I suspect have or will move to this system .

This is what we have in our db - looks like it's one of those 380 mhz trunks that are springing up...

996 is not the only scanner. RS/GRE 500/600, Pro-106/197 will track in that range. Even a 96 will too.

No, the PRO-96 (and PRO-2096) cannot trunktrack in this range. However, it can receive it conventionally IF the expansion trick allows the radio to have enough sensitivity to hear it - not all of them will. The 96 and 2096 never had this range in their radios to begin with, so it's iffy one way or the other.

Also include the 396T, 396XT and 996XT that will trunk in this range

Not all of Drum's talkgroups are in the database, but it's a great start to listening. Plus they won't let us put "unknown" talkgroups into the database.
