• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

so, 6 months after purchase, the USB jack broke off and fell inside the scanner today. I've emailed ScannerMaster to see if they will fix it, but I bet I'll have to send it to Whistler and wait, wait, wait.

Never had a problem with the Uniden's.

If you have a problem with Whistler, perhaps you
need to purchase something else.
I've used Whistler on several repair jobs with
prompt and excellent results..

Yes, and you didn't mention what model you are using...

As solid as they are this issue is certainly odd...

It needs to be returned to Whistler for repair. That would take alot of force to break as in pushing or dropping. Drop WhistlerWendy a PM and she will help you get it repaired.

How in the world did you do that?

As far as repair - I'm not sure why comparing this issue to your Uniden experience is relevant at all but since you've brought it up - all of the last 3 Unidens I bought (396, 436, 536) had to be returned to Uniden due to "defects". I've never had to return a GRE or Whistler radio.
