I was Looking Around the Coast Guard Site and Came Across the Revised Inspections and Compliance Directorate--August 3, 2017 / Safety Alert 08-17

Seems Like they Abandoned this Frequency 4 Years Ago and Mariners are Still Calling on it---Here is the Page Link

2182kHz has not been in use worldwide for commercial message purposes or distress for at least 4 years - just like 500kHz - any blue water ships use GMDSS for emergencies, HF SSB and Satphone for communications. There are still plenty of HF SSB emergency and traffic channels in use that the shore stations and coastguard monitor.
