I gave my 536 a static IP in my router, and then configured that IP address as the DMZ with the intent of being able to access the scanner remotely by connecting to the router's WAN IP address. It almost works. When I enter the WAN IP address in Siren, it hangs indefinitely on the connecting screen, rather than timing out with the "No Scanner at this address" error message. My ISP is Comcast/XFinity. Are they blocking something Siren needs to connect, or are there some configuration tweaks I could make to get it to work? Has anyone else tried this?

Port Forwarding

Hello,

Look for port forwarding in your router (PAT). If port 80 is used for web GUI access then configure that port to redirect to the static IP of the 536. I have used Port Address Translation to allow me access to web cams and other services.

Happy Holidays,
John

I have remote management disabled, and it's set for a different port anyhow.

DMZ is supposed to forward all ports to the DMZ IP address. Maybe it doesn't.
