Utah - March In-Person

That time again. Still going to be a bit cold out so I am recommending a indoor place. I really like the Magna Storehouse but we are always open for any new thoughts. As to the Date and Time everyone throw in your thoughts.

Another thing we need for March is a topic to be presented. Any ideas? We also would need someone who could give a brief presentation on the topic. So if you have anything that you would like to share and teach feel free to nominate yourself. Otherwise throw in topic ideas and we will figure out who might know about it.

I'm thinking about mid-month, say the 15th or 22nd. I also would like to request someone with information about the GRE scanners to be there. One of our new members has one, perhaps he would be so kind as to bring it if he can attend.

The 15th and the 22nd look good to me. I would like a bit of an earlier meeting if we could. I would like to be clear by noon if that isn't to much of an issue.

As far as GRE goes. I have decided to pick one up this weekend and will be more than happy to give a demo. Also tbogs has a GRE so he should be able to share some insight as well.

Magna LDS Bishops' Storehouse on 7200 W and 3600 S.

I haven't been there yet, myself, so someone else will have to post a description of the building, but apparently it isn't hard to recognize.

The building is about a block south of the intersection, on the west side of 7200 W. We need to park in the Western side of the parking lot, so the customers have access to the store. Go in the sliding doors and head for the back of the store. If anyone asks, just tell them your with the radio club. As you go towards the back, you'll see a staircase on the left hand side. At the top of the stairs, make a 180 to the left, and follow the sounds. For the hams, a couple of us will be monitoring 146.52 (simplex).

Yeah enter the door on the side (south) then walk past all the food then head up the stairs. At the top you need to make a full left U-turn and then down the hall. (Dang Google hasn't mapped INSIDE buildings.... yet lol)

I'll should be in SLC the day of the meeting, but may still be driving back from a backpacking trip on the Paria River until afternoon. If I don't make it maybe I can get a report on 2 meters. I'd love to meet you guys, but my Utah trips are always rushed (too much to do there).

Tim if your too far south to hear the SLC amatuer systems, the Sinbad ham system that covers southern and eastern utah also has a site on point of the mountain on 147.080 pl 123.0 (I think) I'll double check the PL. Anyway it links all the was through Green River and four corners all the way up through Vernal and to POM. Just FYI in case you can't hit those up there. Some of the ones for down this way i can give you too.
