I am not very familiar with the GPS portion of the APX radios... not utilizing a trunked system, is there any way an incident manager see portable radios in the field utilizing GPS.. whether it be on a simplex or conventional repeater?

To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

The pro’s will be by soon, but the quick answer is yes. I use a VHF/UHF APX7000 and my buddy and I can see the other’s position whether we use simplex, or go through the repeater, when we TX. He uses whatever model he has in his hand at that moment. I know he has an 8000 and various others from handheld to mobile. Obviously the GPS needs to be turned on as well.
By the way, I did some testing with an amateur antenna once and everything worked, but the GPS. Fortunately the Moto PMAT4001A is a fine antenna.

Yes, I would be happy to talk with you about our product and interface to either Esri's geoEvent or Velocity gateways. From there you have many options like Esri Mission. But you can also do something much simpler like a Google map.

We use the APX GPS in SAR on our P25 channels. Works well. Command can see it on their control head also. No mapping but does what we need.
