UV5R question

I have several UV5R Baofengs. All the channel programming and menu settings are identical in these radios as near as I can tell.
I have all radios powered on and monitoring both A (set for a 2 meter frequency) and B (set for a 70cm frequency). All radios have the A/B pointer up to the A band.

If I pick up one of these radios and transmit on A it is heard by all radios. If I switch that radio to B and transmit again, it is heard by all radios.

So here's my question- after doing what I just described, some of the radios have the A/B pointer down and the next time they transmit they will do so on B band. The other radios, even after receiving on B band, the A/B pointer is still up and it's next transmission will be on A band.

I want all the radios to 'follow the leader'. What am I missing?

Check menu #7 to see if you have "dual watch" activated. This will cause the receive to change from one VFO to the other when activity is on the other VFO freq (not the one you are on). Then it returns to the original VFO after trans stops. I leave dual watch turned off for that reason. If I am monitoring a channel QSO and something comes of the other VFO, it will switch to it right away. Then I miss part of what I was originally listening to. Also, when you program using the CHIRP software, make sure you are on VFO A and dual watch is turned off! I had a problem saving some freqs to memory, just would not save them. Turns out that some Baofengs will not save to mem if there is a trans during the save time. Now when I program anything into my Baofeng radios, I remove the antenna, which solves that problem.
