What happened to the CULPEPPER STATE POLICE broadcast...

It was tied into CAROLINE COUNTY but now had been deleted.

Anyone know if a new scan is coming back soon... I am missing out on STATE POLICE broadcasts here in King George and surrounding areas.

Thanks
Roy Ken

I take it you're talking about the online scanner. Have you contacted the person providing the feed? If you feel you are missing out on something, consider purchasing a real scanner and hear what you want.

I did contact the feed provide but never got any response back...

All of my older scanners are not much use to me anymore since everyone has gone digital.

Have no idea what scanners work with the new formats. Also seems like most scanners available these days cost around $500 or more. Pretty steep...

I would havte to shell out that much money and not know if the scanner will pick up what I want to hear or not.

The Sheriffs Office for King George County VA and most all of the other surrounding counties here all went digital mode. The RESCUE SQUADs all seem to work however...

Everything keeps changing haha...

ONLINE scanner works great here and I can have unlimited folders for many feeds all going at the same time. Sounds great... The online scanner however doesnt pick up the new digital unless someone is providing it online..

I would want to work with someone on which high dollar scanner i would need I guess... Almost would like a BASE STATION verses handheld I think???

Off in a far away place, far from u.......
Well, KG shows they have a P25 signal for the Sheriff department, the schools us DMR (Mototrbo), and the rest look like they are analog.

Spotsy will be changing their system soon....in the works already swapping radios in cars and on deputies.

The State Police are working on a P25 system also which might go Phase 2 sometime in the future.

Pretty much you can use a Home patrol for scanning now but would hold off on purchasing that and think of going with the 436 or 536 for scanning since they handle all the new phase 2 crap. Even the new Whistler scanner does this.

No scanner on the market will decode DMR/ MOTOTRBO. You will need a scanner with a discriminator tap and also a PC running DSD to hear any radios using the DMR....BUUUUT once you go that route you will have to hope and pray those same folks using DMR are not on a second level of encryption as you will hear nothing.

Pretty much all I listen to on my 436 is; Spotsy PD/FD, Orange Fire, State Police and others on the STARS system and a few other agencies that are in the open right now.

I will say I was in Baltimore a few weeks ago on a vacation and their Phase 2 system was working great......but the scanner had a few issues keeping up.

Hope this helps you out a little RoyBraddy
