Does anyone know what type system and freqs the VA Veterans Admin uses in Johnson City? Like for their police and such. How are they licensed and listed? It will probably listed under Mountain Home, TN

I would suggest spending sometime searching 406-420 [Where most of the VA's are moving to from VHF] as well as 162-174 Mhz

I've not seen any VA using ISR [IntraSquad Radios], altho GMRS/FRS is not out of the question from time-time.

Don't know about Johnson City but here in Nashville the VA Hospital Security uses 408.0 in P25 and NAC Code is 283.

Anyone else in JC or close by try these two freqs 407.8375/407.840 (im sure they are using the 8375 but making sure) if you can for the VA. I found these last night as I know it is the VA, but I cant find a PL or DPL. Kinda puzzled on what type of system it is. Im getting a quick squelch opening every 5 sec. Could this be a trunking system or? Thanks for any input

This is an LTR Passport. You verify this by the mention of the data burst every few seconds.

It is NOT trunktrackable by any current generation scanner. There are two ways to monitor an Passport LTR system.
1: Conventional with NO delay on ANY repeater freq, the frequent data bursts will lock up on the freq.
2: There is an trick with the PRO-96/2096 where I believe you set the bank its in to conventional, but the freqs as Motorola. This cuts the data bursts down to a minimum.
