I am in pre-purchase mode for a new scanner. I have found just about everything I want in the area, EXCEPT for Valatie FD freq's. Kinderhook, Valatie, and Niverville all have their own departments. I have found the other 2 from RR and other intercept sites, but I am unable to find Valatie.

Does anyone know if they use the County Talk-Around freq's and don't have their "own?"

thanks.

They use the County frequencies, with a possible caveat that since all 3 run as a task force, they may be able to utilize Niverville's frequencies (I don't remember if Valatie is programmed for Niverville's frequencies.) Mostly, when multiple departments are running they use the County firegrounds unless there has been a lot of pre-planning and programming of systems (example; New Lebanon, East Chatham, Red Rock and Canaan run together and use a 'task force' frequency that is licensed by [East Chatham, I think?] one of the Companies)

awesome thank you! I also found this for P25 systems from another search at the radio upgrades itself for the 536 scanner:

https://digitalfrequencysearch.com/Search/P25display.php

Seems Niverville and few others using P25. (may be same list as RR database, I am guessing)

Check the RR database. That is going to be the most accurate. That site you posted shows that P25 is an approved emission on their license, doesn't mean they are actually using that mode.

All the radios are P25 capable or compliant but nobody is using it that I know of. Many of the licenses put the P25 emissions on them when they licensed (I know Niverville licensed it P25 as well but to my knowledge they are running analog)
