During the TV coverage of the Pope leaving the Vadican, a fly-over view showed a impressive antenna and tower. The antenna wa obviously two log-periodic type antennas, but their points merged into what may be described at a V shape on its side. Anyone know the brand of this antenna? Thanks.

A similar antenna is located on the Vatican Embassy on Military Road in NW Washington DC. There was another of the same LPV type mounted for years on a tall office building (now condo apartments) in Silver Spring, Maryland, at 13th Street & Georgia Avenue. The story was that this one was owned by NOAA and was used for monitoring electronic weather buoys in the Atlantic Ocean.

Yes, Mike, it could be, but I am interested in learning about that dual log-periodic V-shaped antenna.

Received another message from KD5RKO describing the antennas seen:
"That's a stacked array...the reason the arrays aren't parallel is so that the relative spacing is optimum over the entire frequency range of array. At HIPAS, we had a PYRIMID array of 4 wire log periodics for our ionosonde."

Thanks to ALL & 73. Jerry
