Vero Beach & Sebastian pd not heard

I am hoping someone has some info why Vero Beach & Sebastian and fellsmere police depts are not able to be heard on the EDACS and P25 systems in Indian river county, I am here for a week and only near the county sheriff and FD, when I was here in april I was able to hear them and there has been no changes in both systems in the data base. So something changed betwe April and December

Not 100% positive but it is probably that those law enforcement agencies are on the new P25 system and are more than likely encrypted. I'm too far north to confirm the situation but that's what it appears to be to me. Probably the reason for no talkgroups being updated either.

Yes I was thinking the same thing but normally even the encrypted channels are posted on a system with the letter DE , it also possibly they did Not submit it the info to anyone and keeping a down low on it

i will admit that the RR dB info for the P25 side of Indian river County is a bit lacking. It's my understanding that most of the public safety ops there have moved from the EDACS system to the 700 Mhz P25 system.

if you take a look at the dB entry for the P25 system: Indian River County Public Services (P25) Trunking System, Vero Beach, Florida - Scanner Frequencies (radioreference.com) you will notice that there are no entries for Sebastian or Vero. That's not saying they aren't on the system - the dB only has information in it that's submitted by the users - and we haven't had any input from IR county in a long time. So I'm 100% certain the dB is out of date.

I am going to assume that you do have a P25 Phase 2 capable scanner, correct?

I would recommend putting your scanner into ID / Talkgroup search and taking a listen on the system - I'm fairly certain you will find Sebastian and Vero on the P25 system... somewhere.

Unfortunately, even though I am relatively close to IR county --- I cannot reliably hear their system from my QTH.

99.9% of the LEO talkgroups are full time encrypted on the P25 Indian River County System and have been for quite some time.

I was just down there for the past week and the sheriff sept is still using the edacs system full time and there was a cliff of times Vero would pop on and also Sebastian for whatever reason, I do have phase 2 scanner and brought that to but I didn’t think of doing an ID search I’ll be back down in April and will do it and post anything I find
