Very low volume on NFM

Hello all, I am scanning the air band voice with NFM and the volume is very low even though my volume is max. Has anyone experienced this before?

Seeing how airband is AM I'm not surprised.

In addition to using the correct demodulation (i.e. AM not NFM).
Using a HPF (High Pass Filter) to remove the DC offset and also using a audio AGC will both improve the loudness of audio for AM. (with-in reason)

It would also have helped to tell us what software you are using and how it is configured so more guidance could be offered.
