Has anyone programmed some VHF marine frequencies into their Unication G5?

Possibly looking to add this into my G5 being that I live near the the Baltimore Coast Guard Yard/Key Bridge.

If possible to program into the G5 anyone have the marine frequencies handy?

Regards,

Keep in mind there's a limit to how many frequencies you can put into a scan list. The VHF antenna on the G5 is also just a strip on the side leading up to the antenna - so unless you're super close, reception might be quite limited.

Yes, programmed channels 13, 16, 22A, and 23A along with CG 112. Plus a few more CG channels for when in Sector Virginia

Works OK, but don't really use this knob position much with using my TK5210s to monitor this traffic when out.

Going forward even with the G5 having the ability to do this it's kind of waste of radio resources, as the pagers strength is P25 trunked systems. The good thing is you have the ability to monitor marine if something comes up as thre pagers are small and easy to carry.

Do you have a G5 setup to listen to those channels?
I have the frequencies setup in tab E3 for 13,16,22a & 23a.

Don't seem to be hearing any traffic at all.

Yes, on one knob position.

CG and marine radio traffic is less in the winter without the pleasure boaters.

Channel 13 would have some commercial vessel traffic, but it's a low power channel.

CG Sector Maryland NCR does a scheduled broadcast at 8;30 PM. Will start channel 16 and they be conducted on 22A. Don't know the mornings time broadcast and they are based on ZULU time, so they shift up and down an hour with our ST/DST changes.

I just downloaded the channels in the PPS from the Radio Reference database and added them into the knob position.

Also some areas don't receive the Sector too well. You may be in bad signal area for thses transmissions.

Sees like a waste of P25 resources when a Baofeng only costs about $35 and has 127 slots for all the CG and maritime frequencies. I carry one for RR (Nationwide frequencies) and one for Marine/GMRS/Aircraft (the UV-RM has airband, too and 999 slots. I have 3 local Int'l airports programmed: DCA, IAD, BWI plus little locals) and they can scan
