VLC top play Audio Stream and tips on remote control

Hello:
My immediate need is to test the audio stream using VLC. I saw the Uniden recommendations and I cannot connect. The BCD536HP is on the same local network with a known IP address that responds to ping.

I am using the rtsp://192.168.1.107/au.scanner.au but VLC cannot connect.

Any clues?

Ultimately, I would like to connect to the scanner, control and play audio from a remote device both in the house and from a remote locations. Any tips or proven solutions?

You have a period in place of a colon. The string should be:

rtsp://192.168.1.107/au:scanner.au

Great....Thanks. I took the url directly from a Uniden on-line document. I am not all that familiar with audio stream formats.

This works. Hopefully Uniden will fix their FAQ/Tech doc.

I just looked and our online docs correctly show a colon.

Thanks UP man. I cut and paste the original url from an online document. The document I followed is BCD536HPFirmwareUpdate < UnidenMan4 < TWiki. In my troubleshooting I must have changed the : to a .
