• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Welcome to Radio Reference! Thanks for sharing the article. It was interesting to read and see the pictures. I remember driving near the Ohio site in the 70's, the antenna system was awesome.

Does that mean they are stopping the transmissions I get from transmitter sites in Asia? God would I miss that:(
I doesn't mean they are stopping anything in particular except to shut down the site in Greenville for budgetary reasons. Site C was closed 10 years ago, Site A is in limited use and Site B still carries some programming but will soon see limited use and this will save money. It's going the way of Bethany and Dixon and Delano. It's more cost effective to rent from others than to run your own.
