hello while scanning wilmington on my psr-500 every things going along good then i hear static and its showing on the display as voice channel what is this and why wont the 500 scan this correctly why do i hear this static. thanks for any help

newark and im using regual 800mhz antenna. this does not happen alot usually monitoring is good just once in a while it comes threw as vc and i hear static, why is this.and what is voice channel thanks hai akeeba, frankhai_akeeba said:

Not sure why the psr 500 shows voice channel, other than you may be losing the control channel. Here at work, by the Bissell Hosp. I only get 2 to 3 bars on the 996 Using an 800 mhz mag mount. Wilmington radio system has limited radio coverage. There was a previous report of others receiving static from Wilmington but, they have since stated that the problem has cleared.
It could be that you are listening to an encrypted talkground.
