• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have 2 motorola gp-900 radios with repeaters box.
When TX is near the relay it works fine, when the TX is far away from repeater box (over 100m) then VOX function does not work well. RX works well in coverage area.
Please guide how to fix this error.
Sincere thanks

You need to provide more information about "repeaters box"...

I'm everywhere Focker!
You need to separate those radios a lot more or get some filtering. Being that close you are desensitized the RX radio.

Hello KevinC
Thanks for replying.
I set it up according to this video.
It will succeed if RX and TX are next to each other, when TX is far away from the repeater box (over 100m) the VOX function doesn't work well.
I unplug the connection cable, RX on repeater box still hears sound
How can I fix this error?

Just because YouTube says it will work fine doesn't mean it will. A true repeater has a duplexer and mobile base radios. It's desence as stated. If this is for HAM use there is a lot of options on eBay or other sites. GMRS also has a few part 95 repeaters that are reasonable. If this isn't ham or GMRS then you don't meet any of the rules of your license anyway.

I suspect the OP is not in the USA...or Canada.

Verify that the radios have a strong signal when they are far away from the repeater box. Weak signals can cause audio quality problems, especially with VOX. If the signal is weak, consider adjusting the repeater's location or using a higher gain antenna to extend the coverage.

"Desense" means you have RF from the GP900 transmitting radio de-sensitizing the GP900 receiving radio so it can't hear the incoming signal well. Get external antennas for both radios and place them as far apart as possible, both vertically and horizontally.
