VP6000 Audio Profiles

Hi everyone,

Looking to see if anyone has played around at all with the audio profiles (both Rx and Tx) for the Viking VP6000 series. I've got a fleet of Motorolas in service that I played around with to get the best audio, but it took awhile to fine tune it. Our fire department has some VP6000s and wanted me to take a look to see if I could improve any of the audio. It seems to be set pretty default across the board right now. Looking for input on both analog and digital, and for both microphone audio and speaker audio.

I always just use the "Internal" preset for both Internal Speaker and Microphone profiles and the "KMC-54WD" preset for both external settings. Unless the user is using the Otto 500 speaker mic then I use the "Otto 500 Fire Mic" preset. I don't get any complaints with those. The Analog side I leave at Flat. I assume your users don't like those presets?

Do you leave the gain at zero or use the default for internal which I believe is +6 for digital? Not sure why they don’t provide setting for the KMC-70 under audio but the do under accessory type.

I usually leave them at zero. A few customers have had me increase them. Usually the only gain I might change is for External then either +3 or +6. I don't know why they haven't made a preset yet for the KMC-70, but the KMC-54 seems to still work ok.

FYI, starting in the newest version of Armada, you can manually type in the gain you want in increments of 1, if you use the arrows it goes by 6's.

Also, my mistake, when using the presets it changes Analog also.
