Howdy,

Finally, almost situated in the new house. Now that I have my shack setup to some extent, I have started scanning again. Still waiting to get a new desk and get my scanners and Yaesu mounted again.

VR-1052 goes right over my house. I get quite a bit of T-39's flying over from VT-86 in Pensacola. I do get quite a bit of Army aircraft, including C-130's, and Chinooks flying around for A-G training. I have searched the L-VHF band, H-VHF and the UHF milair band. Still haven't heard anything. I have tried signal stalker, and nothing but a few bleeps that were to fast to see.

So, does anyone have a list of A-A frequencies for the VT-86 T-39's? Also, what callsighns do the use again?

I'll post some pictures of my setup when I get it done.

Thanks

I don't have much in the way of stuff from Pensacola but what i have noticed is that a lot of the Pensacola/Whiting Field trainers love using the A/A Common frequencies so make sure all those are plugged in. Also as you may know deifitely have 255.4 in for their position reporting. And for me getting a helo a/a is like winning the Super Bowl because to me helos are the most elusive since they have like 3 bands they can use. And if that hit is on the low band then it's that much sweeter since the main user of low band here in Nashville is the THP. However yesterday i caught two AH-64s i though would be using UHF but they showed up on 38.575 transiting to Ft Campbell. Good luck.

You lucky dog! Wish I had an aerial track over my house!

Yes- I see them all the time. None lately though. Although I have been in school, so I haven't had time to see any. Being in Cobb, do you get anything from Dobbins? I get some stuff on their POST frequency, but that's really it. I'll be there for the airshow in October, you going to be there?

CORN, Yes- hearing Heli's is like winning a NASCAR race. Rarely happens, but when it does, it's great!

Hopefully in Pensacola this year, when they do the T-39 flyby's I can get the signal stalker out and possibly catch some A-A Frequencies they use, hopefully they will use their own, not airboss (the usually go do a flight for about 30-1:00 before doing the flybys)

Thanks,
Caleb

Don't get much out of DARB these days since the Navy side was shut down. Mostly C-130's and other odd ball transits. I haven't heard any of the Raptors in a while, either. :(

:( My friend goes spotting there all the time, he said he hasn't seen a Raptor for some time. Since July or some time.

You might plug in 143.25 that is used by TW-6,also the T-39 use the ROKT 500 callsigns and the Raptors use 142.2 F1 and 140.2 F2 for A/A.

Thanks! I just couldn't remember the callsign.

We did have quite a bit of action last week, some F/A-18F's from NAS Leemore came in. Not sure if they left yet or not. Probably so.

Did some reconfiguring to my station this week, finally got everything settled in except for my 2M rig. Added a preamp too.

Thanks again!

Quite often I have seen TAW-4 fly into PDK on their training flights. Bunches of T-34's.

I guess Andrews-Murphy used to get the T-39's when they went bingo, but that airport has gone down a lot since last month.

Had something fly by the house today, shook it like crazy. T-39? Or F-15? By the sound, F-15, by the occasionality, T-39.

While on low-level routes, aircraft monitor 255.400. VHF-equipped aircraft (T-45s are UHF only) monitor 143.250, except for T-6 formation flights, which are allowed to remain on their own VHF interplane.

UHF A/A is usually common freqs: 246.800, 252.525, 299.500, 357.000.

Hope that helps! I'm looking for more at the moment, so I'll post what else I can find.

Wow, thanks!!!!

I really needed that. One of my friends flew the T-39 in VT-86, and said he flew the same VR that goes over my house, he showed me some of the maps and AP-1B folders they used. Really cool. He knew they used UHF, but didn't know which.

Thanks alot, I will let you know what I catch, if anything.

Forgot to add: Harris Flight Operations

This is the scheduler for T-1 flights from Pensacola. Note the callsigns (RAIDR/SNIPE) which I didn't have in my previous post.

Also - you're going to love me for this - I just got the inflight guide, complete with presets and all. I'll post the A/A and ops freqs in just a few minutes, but you can PM me with your email if you want the full copy.

For low level routes:

T-6A - MTRs: 255.400/143.250 (solo) or other VHF tac (formation)

T-39N: 255.400/143.250
T-39G: not permitted to fly low level routes
T-45C: 255.400/Tac 1-2-3-4

Just a side note, Caleb; the IFG lists all flight plans, but doesn't make any reference to VR-1052. I have a feeling that the Pensacola aircraft you see on the low-level are actually flying VR-1055 (they're nearly the same path). If that is the case, the "pop-off" frequency is 270.300 for ZTL.

What freq was he on? I barely have time to scan becuase of school. I guess I should go pickup another I-Pod cord and get my recorder out (Other one is used for Airtrafficatlanta.com 124.375 feed)

Anway, thanks for the freqs!

I sent you a PM with my email and some other stuff.

PS- VR-1055 and VR-1052 could be it. I guess it depends how far they extend out that day.
