Yaesu: VX-8DR Programing

Can a Yaesu VX-8DR be programed by a computer? If so, what cable abd software. Thanks

CHIRP may be another option. It supports the VX-8R so I suspect it will support the VX-8DR as well.

I believe this programming cable will work.

kayn1n32008 that's what I had been thinking, but not being a computer guru, I wanted to be sure the "D" programming stuff work with the "DR" radio

I also rise in support of the RT Systems software and cable. I use the TAG1, TAG2 feature for scanning a bunch because it permits scanning unique channel groups, so don't leave that feature behind. Sure do miss this feature on other Yaesu units which are scanning capable.

Another vote for RT Systems. I've seen mutiple complaints about CHIRP in multiple forums, but the only complaint I've ever seen about RT Systems is that they didn't have software for a particular radio.
