Wake County 800Mhz

From what i was told Wake County has Digital and Anolog 800Mhz ID's....Does anyone have a complete list of whats digital and whats not? Ive been looking around teh database and some searchs but cant find whats what as far as digital vs. anolog channels go..thanks..

The RR Database indicates which talkgroup IDs are digital and which talkgroup IDs are analog.

On a trunked radio system think in terms of talkgroups, not channels.

Channels are the actual repeater frequencies that TGs are transmitted and received over.

Your scanner tracks talkgroups on channels, but it is specific talkgroup traffic that you monitor.

Check the Mode column in the Viper System. The Viper database has just under 300 digital talkgroups and close to 250 analog.

Using List All then highlight all and select copy, then Paste Special in excel will list 556 total ID's. Sort on Mode will list 3 unknown, 244 analog and the rest as digital.

Hey that helped a lot..sorry for dumb thread then...BTW what does DEC and HEX mean? DEC is the ID that goes into the scanner correct?

That is correct.

Hex and DEX go in. They are 2 different formats for they ID that's why you see different numbers on each for the same ID. Depends on what you have your scanner setup to decode.

DEC is decimal..that is what our scanners use for talkgroup IDs..you really only need to worry about the DEC column....HEX is Hexadecimal which is what programmers use to program two way radios (such as Motorola, etc)...we include both DEC and HEX versions of IDs to make it easier to cross reference IDs...you can find a Talkgroup converter site at the following URL:
