I don't know if it's inflation from a new batch that just arrived, greed or whatever, but if you planned on purchasing an SDS100, it might be a good idea to do it sooner than later. Amazon just raised their price to $100.00 more than some places are currently selling it for! Just thought you'd like to know so you don't get ripped off.

I'm confused, HRO has SDS100 in stock in all stores for $659.99 but why pay so much? GigaParts has it on sale and in stock for $649.99? Main Trading Company has it in stock for $650 and they include a free case. All very reputable dealers. Why go to Amazon?

Time is a major factor with me. This time of the year I have plenty of time to fool around, but come February and March my schedule starts to tighten back up to the point that I don't have hours to play around on the Internet, searching out the best prices, like I do right now. So with that in mind, it's much easier (for me) to go to Amazon, press click, and pick it up off my porch a few days later.

Did anybody notice that the SDS100 pictures on Amazon are from the original run of SDS100s. They show it with the small battery and door. Way back when the 436 came out. Walmart resellers had prices all over the place. Some 100 bucks more than others. Stick with the electronics stores at those prices. HRO ships from all over the states and they show up quickly.

Some sites, listed in post #5, including HRO. have the same small battery picture.
It does not means one way or the other, I think it makes the scanner looks neat so they stick with it. But I also aware some good reputation sites (based on this site's consesus) use the old picture and then phrase it by saying "now ship with extra large battery" to make it sound as if it is an extra bonus from retailer.

The 3rd party sellers on Amazon frequently jack up price when Amazon is not selling a product or is out of stock, the 3rd party seller may fall back to match Amazon or few cents below when Amazon is back in stock with regular or lower price. This is 3rd party seller's problem .
Make no mistake I'm not here to endorse Amazon, indeed I am not a prime member.

Because there are people like me that are like children, who want it IMMEDIATELY and Amazon is fast. I admit that I have paid way too much for many things from Amazon just to get it as fast as humanly possible!

The lowest new SDS100 sale from good site in this Xmas season was from MTCRadio. They have coupon listed on the website. their sds100 is not qualify for coupon (which will expire tomorrow) . But they had a bundle holiday promotion that qualify for the coupon.

Basically SDS100+softcase+Yaesu FT-4X ham radio + coupon = $640. This promotion is gone,
But SD100+softcase+extra battery and charge + coupon =$675, still valid today and will be gone tomorrow. (Hmm, this -$25 coupon is no longer valid as of now, was valid since Dec20 to at least yesterday)

Please take note, not all places will charge you sales tax on your purchase. For instance, ScannerMaster does not charge sales tax to all states. For example to Washington state, that could be a savings of around $50.00 depending on county.
